Key findings from our new research: What Happened to the Youth Climate Movement?

Remember 2019? Fridays for Future, Greta Thunberg, the biggest youth climate strike on record?

After Covid, have things been a bit… quiet?
Many young people are still protesting, campaigning, and taking their governments to court over failures to protect their right to a liveable future and healthy ecosystems.

Yet many others face barriers to becoming involved in the climate movement, despite the fact that young people are among the groups most vulnerable to its impacts.

So, what has happened to the youth climate movement since it first swept the world?
By surveying and conducting workshops with over 1000 young people, we searched for the answers. Our key findings are below.
