ABOUT ANOTHER WAY
Another Way is an environmental education charity founded in January 2019 by 16 year-old Amy Bray in Cumbria with the aim to provide awareness about environmental issues and empower individuals to change their behaviour to live more kindly towards our natural world. Our values include:
- Equal responsibility
- Diversity and inclusion
- Access to nature for all
- Compassion
- Science-backed
- Equity
- Community action
- Inspiration and empowerment
- Action engenders agency
- Bettering mental health
- Transparency and openness
We give talks and awareness sessions, run community events, plant trees, create educational resources and inspire leadership and action in young people through our Power of 10 movement.
Our projects are informed by the barriers we identify people face in climate action: a lack of knowledge and skills, feelings of disempowerment, isolation, and eco-grief, as well as a lack of access to nature. We work with communities to understand these issues and to provide solutions.
Currently, our core team is composed of 6 trustees, 7 employees, and over 10 volunteers.
HOW TO APPLY
Please write a one-page letter or record a short video (2 minutes max.) explaining why you would like to become a Trustee of Another Way and what you can bring to the board. Applications are welcomed on a rolling basis. Please send your application to helen@another-way.org.uk. You will then be contacted for a brief interview.
