Earlier this month we were invited to Glasgow along with another charity, Playlist for Life, to present a tech challenge to 80 students and give them an opportunity to come up with solutions. We presented them with our pilot Power of 10 app and challenged them to find ways for us to boost engagement and to gamify the app in fun new ways for a young audience. Over the twenty-four hour hackathon, we had 6 teams work on our project and come up with some creative solutions. The winning team designed a web and mobile app which had Spotify integration (for our Power of 10 podcast), an AI chatbot and a little animated pet to look after each time you log onto the app! There were also video games which illustrate the Power of 10 in action, which we will be working to integrate to the app in the coming year.
