This week daffodil production has finally begun and we are so excited to be able to welcome our wonderful teams of volunteers to Daffodils HQ at Lowther Castle. Helen has managed to create a very simple and straightforward manufacturing process using clever 3D printed cookie cutters. Once everyone had received their initial training it became a full on production line with people cutting, stamping, brushing and assembling to create the magic that will become Ten Thousand Daffodils! Our production cabin is also a most comfortable and convivial place in which to work – despite the minus temperatures this week it is fabulously warm and cosy. One of our team, Emma Bray commented that it was warmer than her own house!
We would also like to add that we really have been truly overwhelmed by the generosity of our volunteers in giving their time to our project and we look forward to meeting and welcoming all of our many groups as the weeks progress.
See you soon!
