Many of the volunteers will already know Emma Bray. Emma has been working hard behind the scenes organising and coordinating all the various sessions – her spreadsheet is a thing of beauty and we really want to say a massive thank you to her for her invaluable contribution. Emma also recently reported that we have had over 300 people helping us with the production process, more than we could ever have hoped for!
Lots of individuals have come through the Lowther Castle Facebook group and others have heard about the project through the media and of course word of mouth. We have also had a huge number of people join us from a variety of local groups such as: The Watermillock and Matterdale Gardening Group; Watermillock Yoga Group; Penrith Scout Groups; Age Concern Cumbria; Restore Penrith Craft Group; Ullswater Catchment CIC; Women’s Institute; Another Place Hotel staff; Queen Katherine’s School; Clifton Primary School; Ullswater Community College; Patterdale School; Keswick School; Stainton School. It is great to be engaging with the community in such a productive and enjoyable way. We hope you are enjoying being a part of it all.
Production is going very well so far so thank you all again. Another important volunteer job now is to help with the steel stem bending. This is a simple process and is something that can be done either at Lowther Barn or even in the comfort of your own home – please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you can help. We will also be needing volunteers in a month or two’s time to help with the assembly process – adding the stems to the finished glazed daffodil heads. Please watch this space (and your email) for requests and we know you will be as excited as we are to see the finished product!
