“On its own, a tree can survive, but in a forest it can thrive.”

Amy used this powerful metaphor for community in her recent online conversation with Mark Sylvester for his TedX Santa Barbara Salon series. Delving into her own story of feeling isolated, lonely and powerless when confronted with the climate emergency, Amy explores the power of community to motivate, support and inspire.

Amy said, “It has long been a dream of mine to speak about my work and ideas on the Ted stage, and this was an amazing first opportunity to talk about Power of 10. It is really important to me to elevate the voices of young people and the mission of Another Way to bring about wider values and mindset shifts to tackle the climate and nature crisis and build a kinder world, as too often narratives are rooted in untruths or myths, such as technology being the only solution.”
